Raintree Focus

The Raintree focus is on the quality of production, for inspiring content based non-fiction with curricula support, and a newly electrifying fiction list. By combining the talents of authors, curriculum experts, editors and designers they aim to ensure that topics, text and graphics are always 'just right'. The wide range includes book of interes to young readers at every age, stage and ability up to 16 years of age.

History of Raintree

Heinemann Library was launched in the mid 1990's to provide the best non-fiction information books for libraries and classrooms. The publishing was developed to provide real books for schools and libraries that support the curriculum and motivate readers to find out more about the world around them. Over the years, we have worked closely with librarians and teachers to ensure that we respond to our readers' curriculum needs and interests.
In 2004, Raintree was launched alongside Heinemann Library to cater for the needs of reluctant readers and those in need of additional support. Raintree's combination of high quality content and accessible reading levels quickly established it as a favourite with teachers and librarians through a combination of exciting and accessible content in collections such as Fusion and Freestyle.

In 2008, Heinemann Library & Raintree was purchased by Capstone Publishers, a market leading company of school and library materials in the US.

In January 2010, the company rebranded as Raintree - incorporating Heinemann Library and Raintree under one banner. Raintree has established a strong reputation with librarians and teachers. By combing all our publishing under one respected imprint we hope to reduce confusion and build a strong identity with resources that captivate all readers. Raintree will continue to publish for struggling or reluctant readers, recognising that every library and classroom includes readers at a range of levels.
